“There Are No Mistakes”

While the year is still fresh, I’d like to share this message on mistakes by Oprah Winfrey with you.

It doesn’t have to completely resonate with you, but I hope you find something in it to be affirming and encouraging.

I can definitely say that many of the most devastating “no’s” I’ve experienced have led to even greater “yes’s” down the road that I could not have previously anticipated.

We are more than the closed doors, or the “failures” we have experienced.

This can be a good reminder of the importance of listening to ourselves, and what is happening to and around us, so we can change directions when necessary.

I’m archiving this here now, as I may need to refer back to it at some point.

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
